We’re frequently asked what is more important, the lot or the house.  Should they have a house plan already drawn before they find a lot?  Or should they find a lot and then draw a plan that fits on the lot.  The answer?  It depends.  What is more important to you?  If you’re looking for the perfect lot (views, trees, etc.) then you probably want to find the lot before you draw your house.  If, however, you have a dream home in mind…the house you’ve always wanted to build…then you should draw your house first and find a lot that will work with it.  Not too tricky, right?

That said, you should get your builder involved sooner rather than later.  Even if you want to find your lot before you draw your plans.  At Jorgenson Builders, we’ll help you make sure you get a good lot.  We’ll tell you what to look for, and things you’ll want to steer clear of.  Once you make an offer on a lot, we’ll be happy to go look at it to make sure everything looks good.  Remember, we want you to be happy!
